As part of the growth plans at Cranfield Aerospace Solutions Ltd. (CAeS), tthe successful candidate will establish a robust, Project Management functional stream within the project office.

  • To work closely with the Finance Director and Financial Controller in weekly and monthly operational tasks, including planning and reporting
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining a single system for gathering of all project data across the business groups
  • Responsible for analysis of project financial data & provision of meaningful project and business metrics to support operations and financial planning & reporting
  • Responsible for the dissemination of appropriate project data to Head of Engineering for resource planning
  • Responsible for continuous development and implementation of all Project Management processes and procedures from Bid to Delivery
  • Work closely with Quality to facilitate Quality Assurance audits on the Project Management processes & procedures
  • Ensures that project documents are accurately completed and that processes are being followed, working closely with the Head of Projects
  • Responsible for ensuring that the systems we have in place for data capture and dissemination are efficient and effective (tools & interactions between tools for example)

This role’s key purpose is:

  • To gather and manage project data and provide analysis & reporting that supports effective project execution and business & financial planning
  • To create & manage the content and continued effectiveness of standards for project management governance within CAeS
  • To maintain, administer and continually improve all PM tools, ensuring efficient & effective automation between other business tools & systems
  • To develop and maintain performance metrics across all projects in the business (ASG, AMG, SPG & SST).
  • Any other duties as needed or required by the business.  Such other relevant duties may be assigned by the Manager in agreement with you. Such agreement should not be unreasonably withheld.
  • Project Management qualification preferred but not essential if relevant experience shown

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project Online – how to get the best out of it, how to interact with other business systems and how to produce effective reporting, etc.
  • Understanding of financial reporting, project forecasting, revenue calculations, etc. to ensure competent and efficient connection of project accounts with business finances
  • Understanding of how to produce effective metrics
