King Air 350 Wing Hard Points
Cranfield Aerospace Solutions Ltd (CAeS) Design Services group have designed Wing Hardpoints for a King Air 350i to support 120Kg.
CAeS conducted a full mechanical analysis of wing structure and whole aircraft interaction including Stress Analysis, Flutter Analysis of the wing-aircraft and Ground Vibration Testing (GVT). The King Air Wing Hardpoints are designed to carry external loads that can enhance the role capability of the platform, extend that capability or change the capability into a new role.
The Hard points are suitable for use with different payloads, including targeting pods, countermeasures, sensors and the carriage of ordinance. The specifications of the design enable the use of either gravity dropped munitions or rail launched weapons. Application areas may include Airborne Atmospheric Research capabilities and ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance) operations as well as a number of others. Initial design into a second pylon per wing has also been started and could be used for similar applications.
