To complete a data gathering trial and provide an assessment of the vibration and shock environment experienced by weapon systems transported by the A400M Atlas aircraft.
Cranfield Aerospace successfully captured dynamic response data from five sorties of the A400M Atlas when transporting selected weapon systems. The sorties including a comprehensive range of flight conditions intended to cover aircraft operating limits. The purpose of this work was to provide an assessment of the vibration and shock environment experienced by those weapon systems when transported on the A400M Atlas. This will provide evidence for the future Dangerous Air Cargo Clearance of those weapon systems to be transported in the RAF’s newest transport aircraft.
