Cranfield Aerospace (CAeS) is an EASA and MOD approved organisation based in the UK and has the authority to design, build and manufacture modifications (minor and major) for both military and commercial aircraft.

We have many years of experience working closely with our customers - from initial requirements capture to aircraft survey, through to design and certification of bespoke modifications.

We can also provide bespoke flying services and utilise our own hangar facilities under our Part 145 Maintenance Organisation approvals, to provide installation services, maintenance and ongoing support.

CAeS is proud to bring this expertise to the world of historic aircraft.  We have supported the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight since 1985 and have recently undertaken other work for the Army and Navy Historic Flights.

Cranfield Aerospace Solutions (CAeS) have experience in designing and catering for a multitude of aircraft interior configurations and, the provision of a Layout Of Passenger Accommodation (LOPA) diagram in support. This is not just limited to the location of passenger seats, it covers all seating, emergency equipment, galleys, lavatories and exits. It also covers the interior design and certification of the interior components and the installation, including any need to relocate equipment.  When an interior configuration is required an Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) would need to be issued to enable the implementation and a Safety Equipment Drawing (SED) would be included.  The CAeS detailed LOPA drawings identifying exact position of each seat and item of equipment can also be submitted as part of the Modification package to the Regulatory Aviation Authority for approval.
