Data Gathering Trials

We undertake trials to prove installations and investigate the dynamic structural performance of new systems and equipment. Additionally, the performance of equipment in role change situations or life extensions can be evaluated. Trials can take place under a range of conditions likely to be met in the end-user's application. Based on the measured data environment, descriptions can be formulated for equipment and specifications compiled to ensure the most realistic approval testing.

Modal analyses of structures are also undertaken to characterise the structural dynamics. These trials can be conducted either at Cranfield or off-site.

Data recording equipment can be configured for gathering vibration, temperature, acoustic and strain information in the following environments:

Sea (Ships and Hovercraft)

Palletised, self contained and powered to suit individual applications

Land (Tanks, Trucks and Trolleys)

Customised to optimise the restricted space envelopes within the vehicles under test.

Air (Fast Jets, Helicopters & Transport Aeroplanes)

Either in palletised form for location in the larger aircraft or in the form of either a 1000lb bomb shape or a CBLS shell. These configurations will allow data gathering to take place without connection to the aircraft electrical systems and all come with certificates of design.
