Shock & Vibration Testing Courses
A three-day intensive course for staff engaged in auditing or overseeing the work carried out by vibration and shock testing facilities. In addition to providing an understanding of vibration and shock testing, the course highlights pitfalls and errors that may occur in the testing process.
The present course addresses the following topics:
- An introduction to closed loop control testing
- An understanding of Electrodynamic shakers and amplifiers
- Expander heads and fixtures
- Transducers, signal conditioners and cables
- The vibration controller
- Random vibration testing
- Sinusoidal testing
- Mixed mode testing
- Classical shock testing
- SRS testing
- MIMO testing and waveform replication
The course included numerous practical demonstrations and examples of how apparently good results may mask incorrect testing.
The course is led by a former head of a major testing laboratory and specialist in vibration control methodology, and assisted by the Chief Scientist.
Who should attend?
This course is ideally suited to those who need to evaluate shock and/or vibration laboratory tests. It looks carefully at all elements of the test process, explaining how inexperience may lead to significant errors in testing. If attending delegates have no previous experience of shock, then the delegate should ideally be of graduate level.
This course is usually limited to a maximum of 5 delegates.
